I am currently working as a Professor at the School Of Biotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. I have an academic and research background which combines engineering and technologies based on biochemical processes. My interest is to develop microbial process for production of colchicine derivative (3-DMC), lipstatin and CoQ10. I have presented Proof of Concept (PoC) for enhanced lipstatin (an anti-obesity drug) production using Streptomyces and scale-up process is ongoing. Further, I have developed a process for colchicine derivative production at 150L bioreactor level. Besides this, I also stepped into membrane based treatment of wastewater coming out from the medical facilities containing high load of pathogens and chemicals.
